I have been a Maurice Villency client. for seven years now and plan on always being a Maurice Villency client. This is for three reasons; service, style, and price. Gone are the days when everything in the store was a small fortune of money. Having said that, do not believe that MV is at the price level of Ikea, or even Ethan Allen for that matter. I would say that they are now a mix, meaning that some of the merchandise is still fabulously expensive (aka fabulously unaffordable), yet they have brought in a lot of newer, domestic (aka less expensive) furniture that I would say is at a price level just a nick higher than Bo Concept, or Crate & Barrel. As for the service, all I can say is that when I enter MV, I feel like I am walking into an old friend's apartment, only it is VERY well decorated. You almost never have to wait for somebody to help you, and once you do, they are very attentive and not at all pushy. Unlike so many other furniture stores, they listen to what you want, and try to accommodate YOUR needs, as opposed to pushing the most expensive product. They offer and interior design service, which I must say is very, very talented. They also sell everything one could want, from wall coverings to pillows to shades. The style is contemporary, yet not so modern that it begins to replicate an episode of The Jettsons. This store is a must, and a landmark for Long Island design.
