Matteo's Restaurant

SHOCKED is what I was after my 6th and final time visiting. Forget that drinks took almost as long to get than to order. Forget that waiter walked away after taking 3 appetizer orders from 1 guest but never asked the others. Forget that the main courses(halibut was good) took 25 min. to be brought out after the appetizers. THIS WAS ALL DONE WITH 4 TABLES OF GUESTS IN THE WHOLE PLACE. This was not the pièce de résistance...5 children are brought into kitchen to make ice cream deserts and while watching them a waiter- through no fault of the kids on OTHER SIDE OF TABLE spills a burning hot(no other way to serve it) cup of espresso on my arm from above the elbow almost to my wrist. ACCIDENTS HAPPEN and thank god it was on me and not the kids. NO I did not call an ambulance(I should have)for the scorching I got. Neither did I even think of a lawsuit. Not only did the owner not comp me coffee and the deserts($25 out of $435 check) that melted while I was treating my burn but he had the audacity to say to me "I have had worse". Im sure if it was his hand that was burned with scorching hot coffee I would not have felt that bad. Cared more about an extra couple of $$$ than to do the right thing to someone who was harmed in his establishment. Most places would have just comp'ed the entire check to A)avoid a lawsuit and B)make the customer feel that they were remorseful and he can come back again. Cant wait to see what happens when presented with the hospital bill in which I will not use my insurance!

Went there for the first time on Saturday night. We were warmly greeted we we arrived and immediately seated for our 700pm reservation. When the appetizers arrived they were cold. Not good when your order is stuffed mushrooms and fried calamari. Same scenario with the main meal ... Food was lukewarm at best. Waiter was not attentive. Would not go back anytime soon.

I've been to this restaurant twice, once before and once after the renovation, and I am most definitely impressed. I would definitely say that anyone that has been to Matteo's before the renovation must go back to see what they have beautifully done with the place!

The staff is extremely welcoming, friendly & attentive. This family-style restaurant has a wide selection of fine Italian cuisine, and I can honestly say that everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. It's a great restaurant for large dining parties and families. The fried calamari is a family favorite, the stuffed mushrooms & baked clams were perfectly seasoned. The Chicken Sorrentino and the Rigatoni Bolognese were absolutely outstanding. They're one of the select few Italian restaurants that I have eaten at that offer "healthy" dining choices, such as the Zucchini Linguini & the Shrimp Alla Wendy. Every dessert we ordered was delicious , from the Cannolis to the Zeppoles and their famous Napoleon, I will most definitely be going back some time in the near future & I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for an an authentic, delicious fine Italian family-style meal.

The food is excellent but, Unfortunately, the last 3 times i ordered for pick up, it took them over an hour to get my food ready. Get it together guys!
