No waiting.time to see the doctor , takes time to listen and go beyond your need as a patient

If I could give 0 stars I would! Terrible service...the worst that I have ever had from any doctor or nurse! Receptionist was rude, facilities are not accomidating for small children, not clean at all! The doctor was not helpful and rude!

Very professional, He is at the moment my primary care physician after some changes, I am very pleased with his personal attention to my concerns and with the results that I am seeing in my health status after follow his advises and treatment. He is very competent and I highly recommend Dr. Matienzo to anyone but specially to my friends and family.

The previous post is obviously from a very bitter and somewhat racist person who clearly didn't understand the situation. Dr Matienzo has been my primary physician since I moved to Hoboken from Chicago. The first time I saw him I had been to the hospital with an irregular heartbeat. Dr Matienzo recognized that the uneducated and clearly inexperienced intern who gave me my prognosis at the hospital was wrong and had prescribed the wrong medication. He gave me a new prescription and treatment that saved me money. I've been back to see him several times for various illnesses and he's always cordial and professional. He also is cheap to see if you don't have insurance! I highly recommend him. Also, to the previous poster: the Dr is from Cuba, where he also received his medical degree - they happen to have some of the best medical schools in the world.

I schedule an appt with Dr. Matienzo for medical clearance for an upcoming surgery. The office staff was very friendly and nice..and that's where the positive ended. Dr. Martienzo called my name which he barely bothered to pronounce correctly and turned his back on me as he walked into his office. I introduced myself and when to shake his hand and he couldn't even be bother to look me in the eye. I was a first time patient and hoboken resident looking for a primary care doctor to go to regularly. I brought all my blood work results from labcorp and showed him the medical clearance form from my surgeon, which was a basic phyical. He REFUSED to do the physical and insisted that my surgeon should have required more blood work and he wouldn't take the liability to clear me for surgery and that if i didn't get all these extra blood test i was 'wasting his time'.. i am a very intelligent, reasonable person and his rambling is broken english and refusal to listen to a word I had to say about my procedure was outrageous. He was the most disrespective, bitter, uneducated person I have ever met in my life. If anybody every goes to this Dr. you are out of your mind - there is no doubt he got his degree from a random unaccredited school in the caribbean. His is the poorest excuse for a professional I have ever met, if anyone is considering to go to his you should seriously rethink your options. Luckily he gave me my co-pay back.. big deal.. he wasted 2 hours of my life.
