The company has good customer service - you can always talk to someone (no small thing in this day and age where it takes 10 prompts to get to a human). The process of sending in your clothes is fairly seemless. They send you a bag or you can use a box. They give you a quote and you either accept, decline or donate. They return the clothing you decline their offer amount. But the trade in value for your merchandise is very low. You're much better off selling on EBay. Just as an example; I was offered $18 for an Iro top I bought, never wore and paid $320 for. I sold it on EBay in one day for $190. I was given $20 for a Haute Hippie scarf that I paid $420+ that still had the price tag on it. If you have nice designer clothes, try eBay first. You'll make out much better.

I have traded-in with Material Wrld a number of times over the past year and have repeatedly had excellent experiences. Each trade-in has been super easy and the value that I have received for my items has been very competitive. Customer service was extremely helpful and best of all, I have used my gift cards to get some great new stuff! I highly recommend!

This review is for the second time that I have used this company to trade-in. I traded in 4 items, and after the trade-in value was too low (they were nearly new All Saints items), I decided to return all 4 items. Upon receiving the returned items, 2 of the more expensive items were missing. I called Material Wrld and spoke to their customer service supervisor. She said that they automatically pre-select your items to be donated. Now, my $500 All Saints bag was donated, and that she could do nothing to resolve the issue. I let her know that pre-selecting any of my items for donation was pretty much fraud. She said that I should have checked after my confirmation if I had a problem. She was of no help whatsoever. Her only solution? Use the tax refund card for the donated item. I was completely shocked by what this company had done here. They basically stole my property.
I have never encountered a company that donates your property without your acknowledgement. This is highly illegal and inappropriate. I'm shocked by how they do business and the fact that they refused to do anything to address their mistake. Even after I gave them feedback about how donating someone's things without permission is wrong, they refused to do anything about it. Be warned if you care thinking of consigning with them! They donate your items automatically without your permission. I will be reporting this company to the BBB for fraud.

Love it! It is a great idea! I traded my stuff twice there. The only thing I hope they can improve is shortening their process time. I am living in California. Including the shipping time, it took me 3-4 weeks to receive my gift card :-) UPS Ground shipping is super slow. I hope they can provide USPS or Fedex shipping options.

My recent, and first shopping experience at the Material Wrld showroom was terrific! The merchandise was easy to navigate, there were plenty of small sizes to sample (the lack of which is usually a shopping buzz kill), and everyone was helpful. The merchandise was in mint condition and the prices, well, it kind of felt like stealing. Completing my purchase was also quick and easy. Just like Mary Poppins, the whole endeavor was 'practically perfect in every way'!
