Marquee New York

I have been to marquee club in Vegas. In my opinion, if anyone tries relating NYC branch with Vegas there can be disappointment. Place looked smaller and congested. And the drinks are obviously over priced like any other club.

Decent human beings don't go to Marquee.

If one day you wake up feeling masochistic, I have the perfect place for you: Marquee nightclub in Chelsea, NYC. You will love it: overpriced drinks, rude and physically aggressive staff, overcrowded dance-floor and bar, arrogant VIP patrons with their prostitu... I mean escorts, a "muddy" sound system that is heavy on bass and mids, and long bathroom lines (unless you are VIP in which case you get put directly at the front of the line, much to the chagrin of everybody else).

Plus when you need to cool off, you have to do so in the busy and bustling 10th Avenue sidewalk that is full of homeless people, drug pushers, cigarette smoke, piles of garbage, and police and ambulance sirens. And to top it all off, there is no emergency exit out the back: the emergency exit is right next to the entrance, which defeats the purpose entirely. The dance-floor and stage (which is statistically the most flammable area: high wattage lights, electrical wires, smoke generators) are sandwiched between the entrance and the exit. So essentially a fire in the dance floor will block the entrance and the exit, and all the sad souls inside will be trapped in the heat and breathing the smoke and toxic fumes. Not sure what the NYC Department of Buildings thinks of that.

If anthropologists want to observe the dark side of western modern society, then they should go to Marquee. I have observed it, and it wasn't good at all.

Extremely overpriced drinks. For perspective, I ordered 2 jaegerbomb shots and a jack and coke, and that cost me $58 before tip. The venue is very overcrowded and the security was very rude and is prone to shoving their patrons, myself included. The one star they deserve is for a consistently good lineup and solid music. Other than that, I highly recommend against this establishment and was not worth the $30 cover I paid the night I went. For a such huge city, you can definitely find other and even better places elsewhere.

It’s not worth going to this club!

Do not visit if you haven’t bought the tickets in advance. Because if you don’t have the tickets, they make you wait in the queue for 2 hrs and then let you in the club. But again, the entry cost will be double… for instance the online ticket was $25...but I ended up paying $100 for me and my friend, and that too after waiting for 2 long hours. That’s a crap.

And drinks… too expensive… I ordered Makers Mark whiskey and they billed $28 for each drink. I know NYC is costly … but for this club... I would say it’s not worth it.

Horrible place. Bartenders don't even know how to make a proper long island iced tea! I believe thats the first drink they teach you to make in bartending school. How do you mess up something so simple.... very overpriced drinks. People are rude and obnoxious at this club. Place reeks of marijuana. Will not be coming back again.
