I purchased a formal gown for an event at a local dress shop for an event happening this Friday night. I will be traveling out of state for the event leaving this Wednesday. The tailor was recommended for minor alterations. The shop indicated the gown would be complete by last Wednesday. I told them specifically I traveled for work and would be in Saturday morning. Not only was the work not completed, they didn't even start the minor alterations. The lack of concern should have had me pull the dress and take it to a local tailor where I live. The shop knew I was from out of town. I indicated I would be back on Monday to pick up the gown. They promised to be in the store until 7PM tonight. No one answered the phone all morning. I went to the shop and the doors were locked. The sign on the door indicated they are supposed to be open.
I am going to have to buy a second gown today, have no time for alterations and I guess sue the shop for the cost of the original gown since they can't meet the deadline.
All they had to do was take in the neckline, no hems needed, no other alterations. Your looking at a very simple, small job that can typically be completed in under an hour. No excuses for the bad service.
