I read about Mario's on Slice awhile back, and when I was in Clifton randomly one day, I made sure to stop by for lunch. The place is kind of a dive, and looks like not much has changed since the place opened in 1945. I ate at the bar, and the pizza came out piping hot shortly after ordering. Called the Emma pie, it's what they're famous for and it's worth the trip. Do you like thin crust pizza? How about extremely thin crust pizza? Unlike most really thin crusts, the Emma pie isn't built with a cracker-like crust. It is a great NY-style pizza crust that they've stretched very carefully to make it as thin as possible; it is at once crisp and tender, with the minimal sauce and cheese on top synergizing nicely to create a completely integrated--albeit delicate--pizza. I got mine with sausage, which was fresh and stellar. This pizza may not be for everyone due to its diminutive size but it was good for a small lunch. Mario's is worth the trip for that alone.
