Dishonest advertising using a bait and switch approach. Was was advertised on menu was lower than on our bill without notice. Services were rude and unapologetic and offered no concessions for our disappointment. Going to complain to federal trade commission..

My mom was in the mood for Italian food so we tried this restaurant simply because it was close to her home. When we arrived I asked about the pre fixe deal advertised outside but the waiter quickly dismissed it and said that it was not offered on the weekends (but it was Friday which is not the weekend the last time I checked).
It was pretty empty for a Friday evening so we had our pick of tables. The restaurant itself was nicely decorated in a way that it made u feel as if you having dinner in someone's family dining room.
The service was pretty good and prompt (well to be fair it was empty). As for the food we shared an appetizer of crab cakes. They were made differently from what I am used to but they were very good. I order the chicken cacciatore with broccoli which was just OK because it was a little bland but cooked up tender. My mom had the eggplant parmigiana with string beans which she said was a dry and not what she expected. Also not sure why but the sides of vegetables were greasy but bland like the food. The best part of our meal was the crab cake appetizer.
I was initially happy to find an Italian restaurant in the area but I wouldn't return especially at their prices.

A wonderful find in the heart of Sheepshead Bay this is a classy Italian restaurant that serves classic Italian dishes. I like to sit outside and people watch while having a wonderful meal.

We just had a little "family reunion" (15 people) today at Maria's, and it was just terrific: everyone loved what they ordered, the staff was on top of everything, and even the desserts were top notch. It's not "nouvelle" Italian, but the kind of Real Thing that you go to Brooklyn for: authentic, old-style Italian cooking, with perfectly cooked pasta, homemade red sauce, and quality (but not Yuppified) ingredients. It's a bit pricey for lunch, but well worth it, overall.
