I was referred to Mike by a friend. I had been to many acupuncturist before so I considered myself to be an expert in what a session should be. In my opinion, Mike passed with flying colors. He is gentle and very knowledgeable in the healing arts. He was able to hone in on my specific problems, and left me with and overall feeling of confidence in him. After my first session, I felt 80% better. Not only did he treat me with needles, he prescribed Chinese herbs, which helped my problem even further. He is gifted and I highly recommend him.

Mike is a gifted practitioner. He has helped me with varies issues, he is passionate about helping his patients and modifies his sessions working with the issues you have. Mike shows immense compassion and patience. He has taught me about my body and healing and I look forward to my sessions! He is a gift to anyone who encounters him. I cannot recommend him enough. Mike Barr is a sensitive and caring accupuncturist. He works with you through whatever is going on with your body and mind. I have had this painful arthritic toe and all over malaise that total was improved after treatments with Mike. He is one of my go to people for helping me maintain my health and well being.

Mike Barr at Manhattan Acupuncture Associates is a wonderful practitioner; it is for me a delight to go to my acupuncture sessions with him. Prior to the sessions we talk through the various issues that I am seeking acupuncture treatment for and Mike explains his plan for treatment, which I find extremely interesting. Throughout the session he always makes sure I am comfortable and walks me through the various needle insertions, explaining why he is choosing the various pressure points. He has a very gentle touch, matched with deep knowledge in the field, which he constantly keeps up-to-date.

Within three sessions with him I was freed from recurring migraines that I have suffered from for 10 years. I am also slowly but steadily getting relief from a series of other minor complaints that I sought care for. I especially enjoy treatment of my back which is insanely tight, and I will walk away from a back session feeling like I just had a 10 hours massage.

Besides from acupuncture Mike is very knowledgeable in Chinese herbal medicine and provides me with such treatment to integrate the acupuncture sessions. Finally Mike offers very precious advice in all sorts of holistic treatments.
