I had an appointment today with Dr. Mamkin which I made four months earlier and it turned out to be a total nightmare! Originally when I made the appointment the receptionist was rude and discourteous I almost decided not to go to see Dr. Mamkin; however, when I called back the following day the receptionist, who answered the phone, was apologetic and told me that the doctor was wonderful; therefore, I made the appointment.
It turned out that the office and the procedures were totally disorganized. Instead of giving me the information to get a general NPI number as a referral for the office. The NPI number was given for a doctor who my daughter was not scheduled to see.
The receptionist told me to call my pediatrician and get a new referral which is something that could not be done.
The chaos went back and forth, office staff asking each other what to do in order for my daughter to see the doctor. Finally a woman came out; she never told me her position there, only her name; Kathy. Her attitude was indifferent and quite uncaring. If she is a mother I would be totally shocked. If someone is bringing their sick child to see a doctor which took four months to get an appointment for.
As a human being and an employee representing the doctor I would have tried to move heaven and earth for the child to be seen. No, that wasn't the case for me. I had to leave without my daughter being seen to treat her medical problem!!!
I would NEVER, EVER, EVER go to this group of endocrinologists!
As a matte of fact, my pediatrician's office told me that they were taking this group of the referral list because there has been several other complaints about the office being rude to potential patients and very disorganized!
In a world where everything is so fragile in regard to human life; it is horrible to be treated as if my child's potential health issue was not important. It is a sad case of human behavior at its worst.
Sadly, it is not my job to teach others how important it is to treat every human being with respect and dignity! It is something they should have learned already.
I can only say that it is my observation that Kathy doesn't like her job, doesn't like people, and doesn't like sick children.
Karma, it is all about karma; the golden rule in life. Treat every human being how you want to be treated!!!!
I would even give them one star, but it is set up that the rating be done like this.
Take it from my experience, keep searching you will find a better group of doctors to treat you child!!!
