I recently purchased a home in Paramus and Ms.Mak represented the seller.
The house is located in the flood zone but the sellers swore to us that the house was never flooded during their 30 year occupancy. We like the house very much and decided to purchase the house because the sellers had agreed to provide an affidavit at closing.
On the day of closing, during walk-through, the sellers weren't even ready and were still packing up. We tried to delay the closing but was convinced that they would finish moving and cleaning by the end of the day. We helped the sellers cleaning for 2 hours until it's was time to close at the title company.
When we arrived for the closing with the sellers, all tired and sweaty, the attorneys for both parties were already there going through some paper works. We followed their instructions to sign lots of papers and waited for the fund to arrived. Before the fund arrived, both attorneys, real estate agent, and title company decided that it was okay to end the closing.
That day felt like a mess and we did not realized that we had not received the affidavit until a day later. We immediately contacted our attorney and he told us that he will seek to it.
Turns out that the seller has provided the affidavit to Ms. Mak but Ms. Mak has lost it!!!! I have requested several times through my attorney and agent for it but Ms. Mak has not taken any action to correct her negligence and my attorney also has stopped responding to me.
My attorney has received one star review from me and so as Ms. Mak. What terrible, unprofessional, and unethical services they are practicing?! First forgot about an agreed closing document, then loosing it, and then ignoring their fault and my requests!
