Madison Avenue Baptist Church

A community of faith in NYC that I can call family. Each week Rev. Susan Sparks and Rev. B.J. Hutto challenge my faith. The church has a professional choir under the direction of Music Minister Paul Stephan. My husband and I love this church and got married at the church in 2013. This is a church that truly is inclusive and welcoming of all.

This church is not a "Baptist" church. Baptists believe in the infallible Word of God. Baptists do not believe in a progressive, anti-Biblical approach to living. The Bible is clear when it says: "Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind..., will inherit the kingdom of God"

Why does this "church" refer to itself as "Baptist" and proceed to teach that sinful living is negotiable with God? Where is that taught in the Bible? No where. If you wish to be deceived spiritually and lied to with the misrepresentation of "Baptist" that is affixed to this church's name, than you should attend a service here.

My partner/husband has attended this Spiritual Home for many years. When we met he introduced me to this Welcoming, Loving Community. The (past and) present minister preach the Inclusive Love of a Pure Divine God-being. No condemnations, no disrespect about anyone. The over all message is Do Good Works as Jesus demonstrated. Know the God within. Experience the Joy and the I AM with as Jesus, the Christ did.
For anyone who believes there is Truth in Scripture, Rev. Sparks has a message for you: the church community is a home for you.
