The decor is literally old school, and the menu is small, but the ingredients are all high quality. The golden beet salad w/goat cheese was delicious, and had to try the tartare burger, my first experience eating raw beef. It's been a few days since I was there, and I feel fine, so like I said, high quality. Nice selection of beers in bottles. You can tell the chef is from Canada: here it is, the 21st century, the only hot sauce they have is Tabasco, and they keep it in the refrig!

Terrible service....2pm, 3 wait staff and a bus boy for about 65 seats. Restaurant 3/4 full. No one seemed to have a designated section to serve. Visited by all staff who had no idea that others had been to the table...duplication of effort. Staff taking one glass of water at a time to a table of 4!!! Hello! The TRAY was invented about 4000 years ago! Of course they were all very arty, trendy and apologetic. But sadly, they aren't servers. Food was tasty (Croque Monsieur) but appeared as a blob of white cheese and bechamel on a white plate...not very appetizing. If you sought to replicate a school lunch, you nailed it. $27 for sandwich and a glass of wine..pricey. Won't return.

what a fun place to eat. fun and inventive, the food they serve can take you, if you are brave to try them, to some exotic places if you close your eyes. that charlotte cake is a must if you are with friends, or with a big group. the wine list is very good.

This place is so good!!!! It is very heavy and rich and the price is reasonable for the quality and quantity of food you received. I am taking down one star because the service is friendly yet slow. We had to wait a long time for dishes to arrive and to get our check, even.
The setting is an old school classroom so they have long school desks as dining tables. It is rather unique and I love how they utilize the space to their liking.
We tried the pot pie and it comes in a football size. My husband could barely finish it. The pastry is buttery and crispy and there is plenty of meat and gravy. We also got their famous bone marrow and it is very good. I wish there was more bone marrow though. I ordered a plate of carbona spaghetti and it is very very creamy and rich. The caesar salad is also piled with tons of cheese. I noticed they use a lot of heavy duty cheese and buttter, just the way they like it in Montreal!
Anyway, I look forward to return to try other dishes and I hope I get faster service next time!
