Lynbrook Runners Stop

I haven't run across (no pun intended) many stores on Long Island that are specifically geared toward runners. The beauty of this place is (1) that it exists in the first place, and (2) that it's run by actual runners. It's not just a store; it's a community of people with a shared interest. They have "Store Runs" every Tuesday - no charge to participate; you just go whenever you feel like it. I've only gone a few times, but there seem to be a bunch of "regulars," and I get the impression they've been doing this for years. Ellen, who is the owner of the store - one of the owners? - sends out emails every week with an update on goings-on in the local running community and a list of upcoming races. Again, no charge and no commitment; you can just sign up to be on the distro. Plus, it goes without saying that in the store they sell every running item under the sun. It's just a cool place. I like it :)

This place has the best staff I've come across in any running store. All stores claim they offer expert advice, this is the only one I've been in that actually does. Everyone on staff is an avid runner with years of experience. They make excellent recommendations from a terrific selection of shoes, and work hard to ensure you find the right pair for you. They are particularly helpful when I'm trying to find the right shoes for my teens. I'm excited that the store now carries volleyball shoes and tough mudder shoes, both of which I'll be buying soon.

This place was wonderful. The man working there was very knowledgeable on the topic of running and has run marathons. He spent at least an hour with me on helping me find a pair of shoes that fit me as he said I have flat feet and not every pair of shoes would fit me.

I have ordered the Pink Saucony Kinvaras from them on a Sunday...and I got them by Wednesday!! I just Love that...how they work sooooooo efficiently!!! Love it! And for this pair of shoes...the shipping was FREE!! OH...also..I live in California and they are in NY! Great work!
