Susan Schnerr, immortalized in the James Taylor song "Fire and Rain," was apparently buried here. I'm not giving the cemetary itself 5 stars but the apparent goodness of one person whom I know was buried there.

My family bought plots in this cemetery about 20 years ago when the cemetery management seemed to care about it. In the last 10 years I have seen this cemetery slowly deteriorate. It's all little things, but the little things add up. There are water spouts all over the cemetery, but good luck finding one that works. First time I called the office to ask about it, I was told that there was a problem with the pipes, ok figured by the next summer it would be fixed but still no water. The next time I called about it, I was told that the city told them to shut off the water because of mosquitos. If this was true, why hasn't the city told the other cemeteries in the area to do the same? I don't appreciate being lied to. Next issue I had was with the tall weeds which at some points have been taller than my children. I called the office to ask about this, and was told the under the perpetual care agreement, they are only required to cut the "grass" 2x a season. Now the final straw is when they closed the entrance on Mt. Olivet and told me the reason for it was just because…because the board voted on it. What about the needs of the people who visit their loved ones?
I would not recommend this cemetery to anyone unless management changes their attitude towards the family members of those interred there.
