It was a brisk cold morning as I wandered in from the north of NYC. I arrived with an empty belly ready to fill it with some delicious Chinese fare. I order a jung gee gai (lo mai gai) which is a sticky rice with Chinese sausage (called lap chern), bits of chicken, and delicious taste. It was a total of $1.75, and it totally satisfied my hunger. I also purchased a lai cha (tea with milk) for my meal on this fairly windy cold day. It helped warm my hands, my belly, and spread heat throughout my body. I am so happy that the lady was there. She was extremely nice like an extended family member. She greeted me and tried to encourage me to stay inside and keep warm. It was odd to see no one in here. Only people ordering to-go. There were two ladies working there. One who spoke Mandarin and the other spoke Cantonese. Most baked goods displayed were around $1 or less. There were about 8 to 10 seats and four tables. I think I will come back here if I find myself in Bensonhurst.

I grew up eating food from here. Jack was the main chef back then. Not sure how it is these days, but it sure is a part of my childhood and teen years. Good food from what I remember...
