OMG! I just came back from a Christening my wife and I were invited to at this dump. We showed up at 3:00 PM. We left at 6:30 PM before desert was served. First, the food... I ordered eggplant parmasian and my wife ordered chicken parmasian. We ordered around 3:30 PM. We had a salad around 4:00 PM, a pasta dish arrived around 4:45 PM and dinner finally came close to 5:45 PM. We left at 6:30 PM before dessert and coffee was served. Not sure when or if it eventually was served.
After a long wait snacking on bread, the salad appeared and it was fresh. Then came the pasta appetizer. It was tasty but a bit too aldente. The main course (my eggplant) was terrible. The sauce and the single layer of eggplant was like trying to down acid over mush. I could not finish. My wife graciously offered her chicken to me and, of course, starving by this time, I gladly accepted. Big mistake. Not only was the sauce like battery acid, the chicken was pounded down so thin it was like a breaded wafer. Thanks, honey... after a few bites I passed.
While sitting waiting for the desert and coffee, I heard screaming coming from around the doors to the kitchen and a large commotion seemed to be brewing. Apparently, the mother of the child we were honoring made the worst mistake possible by asking if the waiters (one in particular) could speed up the process of serving the dinner because, by this time, guests were starting to leave. Keep in mind, this was a Christening on a Sunday. No DJ, no speeches, no gifts to open, not a wedding. A dinner with family and friends.
Well, my wife and I left once the "F-bombs" starting flowing from not only the waiter but also the owner. He also proclaimed in his 25 years of business, he never saw such a bad group of people. What a horrible thing to say. What a terrible, miserable businessman.
I'm not sure what happened after we left, but I can tell you I have been attending special events with this loving family for almost ten years and have been attending social events as an adult for almost 40 years. This is the first time I have ever experienced disturbing behavior like this. From time to time, I write reviews for restaurants, but mostly I am motivated by excellence. For this review, I could not wait to get home so I could share this experience.
Not only is the food terrible, the owner and staff should find another line of work. I think Interstate Battery Company may be looking for some new employees. Kidding aside, stay away from this joint. I'd rather starve, let alone spend my hard-earned money on this place.
