Sandwiches are great, old school Hoboken vibe and taste without a silly long wait.

Ordered some delivery from here. The order not only took an hour and a half to arrive... The Cesar salad was loaded with black hair! Absolutely disgusting. When calling to complain, the did not believe me and said the delivery driver would have to come and collect the food so they could look at it before refunding me. What type of customer service is that?!

What's going on w/this place?!! I moved from Hoboken 9 years ago and stopped in yesterday to get one of my all time fav sandwiches, the legendary Johnny Roastbeef. If the owners are reading this, let me explain what a JRB is. On a hard roll, sliced MED RARE roast beef, THICK SLICED fresh mozz made on premises, and home made BROWN gravy, made MESSY.
This version I took home yesterday (which I could have sworn made the car smell like canned tuna) was very neat, on a soft roll, a brown meat-like substance minced finely into a paste like consistency, skimpy portion of a very bland Mozz, and the entire sandwich was overwhelmed with VINEGAR and TUNA, as if the juice from a tuna can was infused into the meat. My cat wouldn't even touch this, and she loves both roast beef and tuna. My family agreed on the tuna stench.
I am guessing the vinegar is part of the gravy, which you can't really see, you can just smell it. Maybe the new kind of people that moved into hoboken felt the old JRB was too messy? The brown gravy should be visible and it should require many napkins. It should taste like brown gravy. I went online and noticed the new menu just says "Gravy". Congratulations on turning one of the best sandwiches of all time into the worst. I took maybe 3 bites, it was that disgusting.

Great place for lunch. Great food. Friendly staff. Customized sandwiches to perfection. I don't even like tuna, but their Italian tuna (made with balsamic instead of mayo) is amazing. Deserts are great too!

I'll leave the terrible puns I could make here on the side. There are no gimmicks about the food at Luca Brasi's deli. They have ample outdoor seating which is nice and inside the place looks pretty run of the mill. Last time I got a proscuitto and fresh mozzarella sandwich with roasted red peppers which was superb. Not stingy at all with the high quality proscuitto, great homemade fresh mozzarella, roasted red peppers were well done--there wasn't much to pick on here. The bread was also great stuff and held all of this together very well. The other half of this sandwich was a treat the next day. Why is it so difficult to replicate this in Midtown Manhattan with it costing $18 instead of the $10 it costs here? Heresy.
