Good food, cheap prices, but their method of service is slow and there seems to be no pattern as to why some ppl are served ahead of others.

This place makes some of the best bagels and sandwiches around. Their prices are reasonable for the quality, and the guys who work there are nice enough and efficient as well, especially during the lunch rush. It can get a little confusing figuring out who's been helped and who hasn't at lunch, but somehow, they keep everything straight. Their bagels are some of the best in the area, although they're not blow-your-mind awesome if you're from the region and are used to good bagels, but if you're there during breakfast hours, do yourself a favor and get a Taylor ham, egg and cheese sandwich on one of their bagels. Making those is a dying art, but Lou's Hot Bagels definitely has not lost the touch. Also - and this is kind of the secret of the place - they bake their own bread, and it's GOOD! If you want a nice loaf of bread (panella - if you're a NJ-born Italian-American, you'll know what that is), these guys can make a pretty good one, sometimes even with semolina! To be honest, they are better than most of the Italian bakeries in the area, even though the guys in there aren't Italian (and let's face it, most of the area's Italian bakeries have lost the art of quality breadmaking - I'm looking at you, Calandra's).
