For location alone, these guys get you coming and going...literally.
Just about any Long Islander's route to Long Beach consists of taking Meadowbrook/Ocean Pkwy. to the Loop, to Lido Blvd, past all the beach clubs, and inevitably driving past Long Beach Bagel Cafe.
In the summer months, expect a line of people stocking up like the next hurricane is on its way. They've got bagels (duh), sandwiches, fruit, a bunch of pre-packaged stuff, and assorted grocery items that would make a welcome addition in either your kitchen or your beach bag. Food is fresh, cream cheeses are scrumptious, and turnover is definitely rapid at a place like this.
Staff are extremely friendly and efficient, and as others have noted, they really know how to drill through a line full of hungry beach-goers. I've never sat down to eat here, but they have a few picnic tables outside if that's your thing. I'd imagine everyone else is snacking on the beach though!
Now if they only had a parking garage to handle all the vehicular traffic coming in and out of this place....20 spots doesn't cut it!

Terrible Customer Service
Used to be a fan of Long Beach Bagel Cafe until I had a horrible experience ordering take-out this weekend. Placed an order and an hour and a half later the food had not arrived. I called and they claimed I never gave them my apt number, which I clearly did and they said they tried calling me but the phone number was disconnected. Once we cleared up the apt number I waited another hour, still no food so I called again and a male answered. One of the rudest conversations I have ever had, I let him know I was waiting over two hours and he replied "yeah I highly doubt that" and then precedes to tell me "oh you are the one who never gave us your apt number and a 615 phone number that wasn't working." I let this rude SOB know I gave my apt number and have a 695 number so clearly whoever took my order got this all wrong. Once again he replied, "yeah I highly doubt that".
"Yeah I highly doubt that", great way to speak to a customer who has been waiting hours for a delivery. I did get a kick out of not canceling the order, having it delivered and refusing it at my door. Last time I will ever order from these rude people. Here's a tip for the owner of LBBC, maybe train your staff in etiquette and customer service so this doesn't happen again. Disgusting.
