Havent been here in years but it was, and probably still is, a great place for drinks and food. The menu was always filled with so many great choices and the staff were always friendly and helpful.

Light Horse Tavern is an all-around solid dining establishment. The service is friendly and professional, the rustic decor is beautiful without being too overbearing or obnoxious, and -- mostly importantly -- the food is delicious.
My party shared some Fried Calamari and Jalapeño Polenta. The polenta was a hit. I had a Light Horse Tavern (LHT) Burger and it was top-notch. I'm always impressed when a restaurant heeds my request to cook my burger medium-rare. Yes, there is a small chance it might cause some gastrointestinal discomfort later on, but I'm willing to take the risk, especially when great flavor is on the line.

One of my favorites in Jersey City. Great selection of Belgian beers, delicious entrees, and great for groups and couples. They have a weekly steak special that is fantastic, but they run out later at night. Pricey but good. Classy bar.

Driving around the area and had no idea what we wanted to eat. The huge windows and dim light attracted us to this place. We ordered a dozen oysters that were absolutely delicious! Kudos to our waiter for listening to my likes and dislikes with oysters and recommending perfect choices. I ordered a Cider Glazed Pork Chop over grits, collard greens and black eyed peas. Super delicious and good to the last drop! Everything worked so well together. My boyfriend order the skirt steak over jalapeno polenta, which was also very tasty.
If you're looking for a place to eat and you're in the area, this cozy place will definitely hit the spot.
