While pulling a tick off my daughter's head at 9pm on a Sunday night, I discovered she had lice. Having experienced this with her before while on vacation in Las Vegas last summer, we went through a google search and came across Lice Happens. The woman in Las Vegas was so professional and helpful - she came straight to our hotel room and de-liced my daughter and gave us such an education on Lice - I seriously know way more about Lice than I ever cared to, but am thankful for the education. After such a good experience with Lice Happens in Las Vegas, they were the first company I called here in NJ.
Peter was so helpful, calming and accommodating. He talked me off the ledge, as my daughter has such long thick hair, it's nearly impossible for a commoner like me to comb it all out. He talked me through what I needed to do at that moment and then said he'd be at our house first thing in the morning - had it have been a few hours earlier, he would have come right then, but it was after 9pm, and by the time he would have gotten here, it would have been after 10, and my daughter would never have sat through a comb out.
Peter arrived when he said he would and was amazed at how thick and how much hair my daughter had. It took about 3 hours for him to comb through all of her hair. He was so thorough and meticulous. He was confident that he got out all of the lice and pretty sure all of the nits were removed - you can't get rid of lice unless you get rid of the nits. Having said that, he went through with us again what we needed to do over the next 2 weeks to ensure the nits were gone, and told us to call if we had any questions or concerns.
Over the next few days I combed through my daughters hair nightly, and found nothing. After a week I found couple of nymphs. After another day of finding more nymphs I called Peter and asked him if that was normal or if I should be concerned. He explained the life cycle to me and said that with my daughter's hair being so thick, some of the nits may not have been impossible to get out and so they hatched which is why I was combing out the nymphs. He sensed my weariness and offered to come back the next morning to do another comb out - no charge. His wife, Audrey came and she was just as pleasant and professional as Peter. I felt terrible because she drove 45 minutes down to my house only to find absolutely NOTHING in my daughter's hair. She said that I had been doing a great job of combing through at night, that I got it all out. I kept apologizing for wasting her time and offered to at least pay her some gas money, but she was so sweet and said, that it was their job to make sure we were happy with their service. I hope my children never get lice again, but if they do, I will definitely be calling Peter & Audrey - they will answer 24 hours a day and their service is TOP NOTCH!!!!
