The location is good. The building service is terrible. If you are going for the triplex, be aware that the den would be useless during winter unless you have a really good electric heater to heat up the whole room (which would also cost you additional $200 a month in electricity apart from the $2400+ rent). Management would gladly avert this topic till you've paid for moving, and then tell you that you never asked about whether the den would be cold. Washer and Dryer are also tiny (about 5 pairs of pants and shirts would fill up it up) adding to your electricity cost. The heating unit is on the second floor causing the third floor to be really hot and the first floor (den) to be really cold. Building maintenance person says nothing can be done to the ducts to fix this because of the decision to put the heating unit on the second floor.
Triplexes that face the road have problem of water dripping inside from the windows sill during rain, which management also knows (the building maintenance person told me this when it happened the first time and said its a known issue on apartments facing the road). Beware of their definition of emergency. Kitchen drain pipe being broken is not an emergency for them. They would gladly ask you to stop using it till Monday for it to be fixed.
Initially the commute to city was easy as the bus stop was close by (route 163, 164 and 162), but now I rarely find any seats on the bus and have to stand and go all the way into the city.
