After having been warned by locals for the nearby "Holly Hill Motel", we walked in to the "Leonardo Motel" with the lowest possible expectations. Honestly, our main reasons to enter this place and have a look at the room was to get a low reference point to raise our motivation for paying some dollars more at a better Inn or Hotel in the area. However, the only room available for the night was far better than expected, and the friendly manager offered us a cot for free so we could stay three in a double room. We decided to check in. The manager also gave us driving direction to a really cool combined liquor store and bar, "The Junction". The place was stuffed with locals, and featured a karaoke machine, operated by local hero "Jerzey Jim". We had a rememberable evening. Next morning, in the presence of daylight, our room looked slightly shabbier, we noted some small black holes in mattresses, most likely from bed-smokers' lost cigarettes, and over-heard through the ventilation a neighboring couple playing the US national anthem, and later arguing. But all in all, this place was at least average motel level standard, the staff was helpful and friendly, and we would not hesitate to check in here again.
