As the name implies, LED Waves specializes in energy-efficient LED lighting products, designed to replace standard incandescent/fluorescent applications. They pride themselves on using extremely bright and low-wattage alternatives, providing identical light for a fraction of the energy expense.
When I bought my NYC apartment, I decided to green all of the lighting, purchasing some EcoSmart A19 bulbs, and adding a 20' LED track lighting from LED Waves.
After some intense Googling, I found, demoed and purchased the LED Alpha flexible track system in satin nickel finish. Everything looks extremely high tech and classy, with no visible welds anywhere on the fixtures. I opted for the magnetic low-volgage remote dimming unit, so there's no ugly "box" visible on my ceiling-mounted track. The entire unit is controlled with a Leviton magnetic low-voltage "Diva" series dimmer (electronic/digital fade dimmers don't work with these LED Waves units). The lights themselves are "Athens" bulbs, made with Cree LED lights, and use up only 5 watts per bulb, emitting a brilliantly pure white light (not blue or yellow, but 3000K on the nose). Again, very high quality, but this entire system will set you back close to $1,000. I guess you get what you pay for!
James Coburn assisted me the entire way through, from demoing the unit at their Brooklyn warehouse (read: these are offices and not customer-friendly or "pretty" by any means). He was patient and fielded my many questions, even offering to throw in an extra light during the purchase. I started off with four lights and now have seven, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend LED Waves to anyone else looking for energy-efficient, stylish, and quality lighting!
