I came to Lacey's bridge tavern for brunch based on great reviews about the food and atmosphere.
The atmosphere is a cute, homey, and dated pub (nothing wrong with that). The tables are lined in thick blue vinyl, and the walls are plastered with awards and articles which boasted flavor and freshness.
Let's talk about the food though, the brunch menu isn't that big - which is usually a good thing, in my opinion, but after reading the menu, I felt underwhelmed.
Brunch started with a basket of baked goods, a store bought Entenmann's variety most likely. We went on to order the turkey burger and the frittata.
The turkey burger was the lowest grade of burger you can ever get. Doesn't seem like it was seasoned and put together in house. Just some store bought frozen patty, with that crispy outer layer, synthetic texture.
The frittata was salty but otherwise uneventful and bland, greasy, overcompensated by a thick layer of cheese and bacon.
However, THE BLOODY MARY IS SO GOOD. Reminiscent of my favorite in New Orleans, with some pickled string beans as garnish.
Might go back for the drinks.

Every time we come to The Island from Florida, we make this one of our required stops. The mussels are the best and you can't beat the salad.

Awesome food. Fresh seafood. Decent bar crowd. Go all the time. The waitress with the short dark hair is very sweet. And the redhead waitress is helpful and funny. All staff is nice. Only problem? No free refills at $2 each means just drink water!
