La Locanda

A family owned, authentic Italian restaurant. We popped in here after seeing good prices on the menu on the window. Little did we know we were walking into our new favorite restaurant. The atmosphere was quaint, yet we felt we were in a different place then the bustling city streets. Out came the homemade whole wheat bread that was fresh and warm. The service was so nice, as my fiance and I get into deep conversations over dinner, they service didn't linger yet our cups never hit bottom, and they took great care of us.
Then, the FOOD. My fiance got the lasagna ( a true test of Italian we like to say ) and I did the Penne Alla Vodka. Homemade sauces that electrify your taste buds. Perfect. No other word.

So, I HIGHLY recommend this spot. You will not be disappointed!

A great Italian family run restaurant.

good old fashion italian food @ an old school brooklyn family ran business.

Where do I start? The waiter (who is obviously the owner's son because he just doesn't care) was rude. It took a ridiculous amount of time for him to take our order and serve our drinks and we were the only people in the restaurant. My dish was so inedible I could only manage 3 bites. Obviously sauce from a big can. My husband's dish was awful also, with canned vegetables thrown over linguine pasta. Neither of us could finish. When we ordered a second round drinks and 15 minutes later saw the waiter still stitting at his table texting with his friend and no drinks, we left. We will never go back. Nor should you.

Always makes me feel like I'm eating in someone's dining room, maybe because I am!

Penne vodka is amazing. I think I like everything I've ever tried.
