My family and my husband have been members at this gym for years never had a problem until last night when my husband tried the location on the West Shore Express way on Staten Island . He gave the small short girl at the front his membership card she swipes it and tells my husband that it is not his card the it is a woman name on the account my husband has a unique name for some it's hard to pronounce so thinking that she must be kidding because he just used the same card HIS CARD at the other location and every day that he works out they take payments automatically from his account so a due balance was not the problem. As he explained to her it must be a mistake she continued to be Extremely rude & with a disrespectful attitude she asked him for his ID . My husband did not think he had it on him so he told her he doesn't have it and to check her system again he provides all of the phone numbers and addresses that are on the account she barely even checks it again and at this point she is asking other employees very loudly if any one has seen him there before and at this point Everyone at the gym is starring at my husband and he is completely embarrassed!! Keeping his composure he checks again for his ID he finds it and gives it to the girl she looks and tells my husband well this is not you and asks him why didn't he give her the ID the first time she asked as if she's a police officer!! My husband now it completely embarrassed and angry and tell her that he did think he had it and he doesn't have too because the mistake is not on his part he just used the card 12 hrs ago at the other location so all he wants to do is go work out here and play some basketball.. She then calls another person over to have him look at my husbands license and other employee tells her well yea it kinda of doesn't look like you but i seen you (my husband) at the gym multiple times before and remember every one is staring at my husband and this girl is making him feel like he's not even a person so my husband just grabbed back his stuff and walked out so we come to the gym today at a different location and they tell him that that little rude no respect of an employee had canceled his membership and it's being resolved and should be back to normal by Friday so now my husband payed all the monthly charges and can't even go work out ?!!! So how am I supposed to handle this ?! I have 20+ friends at this gym that I recommend for them to join my parents and my husband do I have to call the local news to come and bring attention to this matter or do I get lawyers involved ? My husband is an African American with a Muslim name and did nothing wrong but wanted to work out after he spends a lot of money on this gym and this small white young girl who obviously has NO CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE cancelled his membership so that means his information did pop up on the computer?!!My husband was humiliated!!!

This gym is dirty, more then half the cardio machines are broken in some manner, and the dumbells are bent. The staff never cleans up the weights. The place is a mess.

I've been coming here for almost a year and I can't say anything too negative. The trainers are great. There's always room to workout. Sometimes it gets crowded during classes and a bit dirty but not very often.

I'm very excited about this gym - I guess that's the regular one - didn't find here smth I couldn't get from my previous one. But you know what, the price is really good!

I like this gym... Don't understand some of the really negative reviews... Good equipment and a pool which is a big plus.

Used to go to NYSC and it was worse. You want towel service and spotless gym pay double somewhere else.
