The balance price/quality/quantity is perfect, specially with the Lunch Special prices. General Tso's Chicken, Chopped Beef Cuban Style, Ropa Vieja are so good. By the way, I love the name...

La Caridad is one of those places where you would pass by all the time and say, "hmm I should check it out one day." Well, I finally made it today for lunch. In a nutshell, never again. I saw some decent reviews online and was interested in their "Cuban\Chinese" menu. Much to my dissapointment, the experience was a total fail. As soon as you arrive, you get a distinct blast of Body Oder. The resturant was reminiscent to a hole in the wall Chinese food resturant. The waiters are friendly but walk around annoyed, often showing off their Chinese switch-to Spanish (vice versa) skills. I ordered the beef noodle soup and pork chop lunch special. The soup looked straight out of a Cup O Noodle envelope. The pork chops were bland. I had to salt both dishes and trust me I hate using extra salt. The rice and beans were below average.
Overall, this place was probably really good a few decades ago and is probably only staying alive due to loyal fans. This is a Chinese fast food resturant regardless of it's references to Spanish food. Consider the many great resturants in the area, I should have continued past this resturant... I mean, the street food truck would have been a much better choice.
So in closing, La Caridad is a major let down and should be passed for better options in the neighborhood. Take care!

The workers are cheap with the soy sauce. I asked you for the soy sauce just give it to me. They use to be good, but now there just horrible. The last time I went there the rice seemed held way cooked but I ate it because I was hungry and was to far away from the restaurant to turn it back. My mom and I both noticed it tasted not like it used to taste and tasted half way cooked. I ordered a large order of pork fried rice to share with my mom. I ate one plate of and felt sick and nauseous. I wined throwing out the rest of it. The last two times I bought pork fried rice at this place it lacked taste and the last time it got me sick. This restaurant is going down hill and is not cooking right anymore. Good luck.
