L a Nails

Please don't go here. Save your time, money and NAILS! Honestly, there can't be a worse manicure ever. I got my manicure done in 7 straight minutes. No filing, buffing, cuticle removal or anything.

Seriously just look at the comments and don't go! In fact, if you really want a manicure and only in this area, jolie nails is better than this. This was an utter disaster.

Just waited and hour and 15 minutes to get a pedicure and eyebrows waxed for nothing. Wasn't told the wait would be that long and there was only 1 person before me when I walked in, so that timeframe is completely out of the realm of reality. All the workers just left for a lunch break or something and there was noone around to do it. Absolutely ridiculous. Will never walk in there again. Over am hour that I will never get back. Thanks.

I've been a loyal customer of L.A. Nails for 10 years but today that loyalty ended abruptly. On my way home from work, I arrived at the salon on a Tuesday at 6:40pm to get my eyebrows waxed. There were 4 nail techs and 4 clients getting manicures. I said hello to the male owner (one of the 4 nail techs) and patiently waited in the waxing chair. 2 of the nail techs (the hispanic ones) were wrapping up with their clients.

The 1st hispanic nail tech finished her client's nails at 6:50pm and then proceeds to wax her eyebrows after telling me to get out of the waxing chair. She finished the wax job and the time is now 6:52pm. The nail tech then starts tidying up her station and walking around the salon while blatantly ignoring me and pretending that I am not waiting to get my eyebrows done. The time is now 7:02pm and the nail tech rushes out the back door to leave and go home.

The 2nd hispanic nail tech finished her client's nails at 7:09pm, then waxes her eyebrows. She finished the wax job by 7:11pm. Now this nail tech does the EXACT SAME THING AS THE PREVIOUS NAIL TECH... WALKS AROUND, TIDYING UP HER STATION, BLATANTLY IGNORES ME AND PROCEEDS TO PACK HER STUFF UP TO LEAVE AND GO HOME. THE TIME IS NOW 7:15PM AND I AM FUMING MAD.

WHILE I'M SEEING THE 2ND NAIL TECH IS GATHERING HER THINGS I IMMEDIATLELY WALK UP TO THE OWNER AND ASK HIM WHAT'S THE ISSUE OF THE NAILS TECHS NOT ACKNOWLEDGING MY EXISTENCE AND NOT WANTING TO WAX MY EYEBROWS WHICH IS A TWO MINUTE PROCEDURE!!!!!! HE THEN SAYS "OH 2 MORE MINUTES" -- pointing to the 3rd Asian nail tech who's CLEARLY NOT DONE WITH HER CLIENT'S NAILS WHICH WAS AN ACRYLIC FULL SET!! THE 2ND HISPANIC NAIL TECH STOPS WHAT SHE WAS DOING STANDS IN THE BACK WATCHING MY FRUSTRATIONS WITH THE OWNER BECAUSE SHE KNOWS SHE COULD HAVE WAXED MY EYEBROWS INSTEAD OF BEING PETTY BUT SHE DOESN'T SAY ANYTHING OR DECIDES TO RESOLVE THE SITUATION TO WAX MY EYEBROWS BEFORE SHE GOES!

I ENDED UP STORMING OUT OF THERE BECAUSE THE OWNER DIDN'T APOLOGIZE AND KNEW THE SITUATION WAS FOUL! FOR ALL THE TIME I WAS WAITING THERE, HE KEPT LOOKING AT ME TO SEE IF I WAS GOING TO GROW IMPATIENT. HE NEVER CAME UP TO ME AND TOLD ME A WAIT TIME OR FOR ME TO BE A LITTLE PATIENT WITH ALL THE NAIL TECHS OCCUPIED. HE WAITED UNTIL I GOT PISSED FOR HIM TO SAY "2 MORE MINUTES".

I AM EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED AND HURT BY LA NAILS THAT I WAS TREATED THIS WAY. I'VE ALWAYS GAVE THE 2 HISPANIC NAIL TECHS GREAT TIPS OVER THE YEARS FOR MY PEDICURES AND FOR THEM TO PRETEND I DIDN'T EXIST JUST BECAUSE THEY DID NOT WANT TO SERVICE AN ADDITIONAL CLIENT WAS A KICK TO STOMACH. EVEN WHEN THE 1ST HISPANIC NAIL TECH RUSHED MY MANICURE THE MONTH PRIOR WHICH CAUSED FOR MY NAILS TO BE RUINED WITHIN 2 DAYS OF MY MAINCURE (WHICH RESULTED ME HAVING MESSED UP NAILES FOR MY COLLEGE GRADUATION THAT WEEK), I DIDN'T HOARD ANGER OR ASKED FOR A REFUND AND BRUSHED IT OFF.

I CAN'T BELIEVE I WASTED 35 MINS TO NOT BE SERVICED. THE SALON WAS NOT BUSY AT ALL. I TYPICALLY ONLY GO ON MONDAYS OR TUESDAYS SPECIFICALLY TO AVOID LONG WAITS LIKE THE WEEKEND.

THIS SITUATION WOULD'VE NEVER HAPPENED IF THE OWNER'S WIFE WAS WORKING TODAY. SHE'S BEEN CONSISTENTLY WAXING MY EYEBROWS SINCE I WAS A TEENAGER IN HIGH SCHOOL (I LITERALLY HAVE NOT GONE TO ANYONE ELSE BECAUSE SHE DOES THEM THE BEST). ALL THE TIMES THE SHOP HAS BEEN BUSY WHEN I'VE BEEN THERE, SHE ALWAYS MADE SURE I DID NOT WAIT LONG OR ALWAYS KEPT ME POSTED ON THE WAIT TIME.. AN ACCURATE WAIT TIME. I'M REALLY SAD BECAUSE I WILL MISS HER DEARLY BUT I WILL NOT STEP FOOT INTO LA NAILS EVER AGAIN.

I INVESTED A LOT OF MY MONEY BEING A KIND & LOYAL CUSTOMER OF 10 YEARS TO THIS SALON AND NOW IT ALL FEELS WORTHLESS!

Moral of the story: If you're contemplating going to LA Nails, take your hardworking money elsewhere to a professional establishment where they treat every customer with care and respect.

To all of you reading this review, since I now have to find a new salon and eyebrow wax lady, what suggestions do you have in mind within Union County? Or even Manhattan. I'm completely clueless on where to go now.

I go here on the regular... i love my nails...i get what i want everytime... the owner and his wife are really nice.

Terrible.Got a regular manicure on my own nails, was told it would be $10. The manicure was sub-par, and when they gave me the receipt I was charged $15 dollars with no explanation. There are plenty of other nail salons on wood avenue. Do yourself a favor and try somewhere else.
