Solid coffee shop on the larger side, where you can usually find a table even on busy weekend afternoons. Noise levels are moderate, and the crowd is a mix of people chatting and people working. There's also a real coffee tree in the corner by the roaster.

Spat out the mocha thing they made. Ew. Never had anything worse ever.

Disgusting. Poorly made drink (I watched them make the chai latte, it was made out of some kind of powder.) But the worst part was the service. The man behind the counter made me move because I was using a laptop, but only after I was halfway through my poorly made meal. And him and his feminine little immigrant mouth were very rude about it. Jeez. Never walking in this hole again.

Nice space. Very tasty food, but the only place in NYC that doesn't offer bagels. Coffee is fair, NBD. Staff is generally friendly and helpful, but service is sloooow. Do they only cook one order at a time? When the line to order gets long, I often see a coffee roaster or kitchen help just hanging out as if they can't pour a cup of coffee in a pinch. Infuriating. Also, they don't seem to want to invest much in A/C which becomes apparent in the summer.

The best coffee in Brooklyn, hands down. There is no substitute for roasting your own coffee. Not to mention their food is amazing. I live close by and have had nearly everything on the menu and it is all local, fresh, cooked to perfection and delicious. Finally the service is great. I can't think of a time that I've been when those behind the counter aren't on the top of their game: friendly and efficient.
