Atmosphere was very very unique. Food was decent but maybe it's great for the type of for they're serving, I don't know. They played trance music for the duration of our meal.

The food was great and they had a decent amount of traditional dishes. The atmosphere had a nice Ukrainian feel however would be nicer with Ukrainian music and not the clubbing music that was on.
I would eat here again.

Perfect place to be. Awesome Ukrainian food and staff. If you are Ukrainian and you haven't been home for a while , this is the place to get to feel like home.

Authentic Ukrainian fare with authentic American hospitality. This is NYC so be ready for NYC prices. Main coarse portions are large and some appetizers are designed for 1-2 people depending on the item. This is not a typical Brighton Beach joint, it's a great place. Don't expect the rude socialist attitude here that you can get in a Ukrainian restaurant in Brooklyn.. Only the food and drinks are authentic, the attitude and service are American;)

Good cooking but pricey. I was craving some food from the old country and came here based on reviews. The service was great, friendly waiters who can recommend food and aren't pushy; and they speak several languages. The decor is interesting and pleasant, using old farm implements, jars of pickles etc, to create an atmosphere of a tradional inn (korchma). It feels cozy. The food, for me, was good but a little hit and miss. The borsch was really amazing, served with a wonderful fluffy white bun, glazed with garlic. The potato pancakes were also perfect, slightly crispy and served with garlic smetana, just like grandma made. There was an interesting home made lemon kvas (fermented honey drink). The cherry mini pancakes were also pretty tasty. But I didn't think much of the famous salad Olivier - it was bland and didn't have the zing I expect from pickled gherkins, and the variety of ingredients I'm used to. Also the stew was too simple and had just chicken and potatoes in it. I'd recommend this restaurant, but it's also an expensive place. I don't know if it's New York prices, but it was more than I'd expect to pay in London, and I'd have enjoyed it more if the bill was about $20-30 less.
