Bad Service with a Smile...
It took six months to complete our kitchen after cabinets were ordered. Various cabinets and doors were misordered 4 times, each resulting in a 4-6 weeek delay in completion. Cabinets were incorrectly sized leading to the contractor having to hack up our cabinet, drawer fronts were misordered, twice, widths were wrong, shelves were missing, etc..
Our designer was appropriately apologetic every time. But that didn't prevent them from screwing up the replacement order, and the next, and the next... I ended up with enough extra kitchen cabinets to do a small kitchen all over again.
Kitchen expo did not charge us for any of the mistakes and ultimately we are happy with the kitchen but I have heard that this story is not uncommon with them as their designers are not well trained and do not follow through on details. But they're very nice. They smile when they tell you that your reorder will take another 4-6 weeks.
Their in-house contractor is excellent though, I can recommend them.
I really think if you can afford it, you should hire a professional designer. Their free design service seems more expensive in the long run.
