Pretty good college to begin with. It is conveniently placed to my last home where I took trips there on my bike. Good staff and smooth graduation. The beach view and access is cool. I had a few "polar bear" swims few winters back, cannot beat that.

If I could rate it 0 I would, not only is this school ghetto the staff is unprofessional I Had the WORST experience here. I don't usually do RATES but when I do it's either really really bad or really really good and in this case, If you read you will see which direction I'm steering towards... It seems like they hire these unprofessional staff members from the streets/slums. They have no proper phone etiquette. I needed to transfer over some of my transcripts the FIRST card they pulled was that I needed to pay a certain amount of money because of my withdrawal. Payed that off. THEN I had to complete the exit interview which is a requirement which I understand. SO NOW I PAYED 27 bucks to get my transcripts sent over for next day because I was late for registering for my spring semester at another college I wanted to attend, mind you on this exit interview, It says they will notify the school and have it sent within 24 hours. Now I'm very happy and ready to LEAVE this GHETTO school all together. Then days go by and my school doesn't receive anything. Which was very weird to me because I've sent the transcripts already. So now I check to go see what the issue is and guess what?? KINGSBOROUGH STILL has a hold for me and guess what the HOLD WAS?? My Exit interview that I've ALREADY COMPLETED. So now I have to call registar it says I spoke with a lady and she seemed kinda helpful but really she wasn't she transferred me to financial aid. Mind you I'm on hold for almost 40 minutes. So I call again and this RUDE GHETTO UNPROFESSIONAL LADY named Tammie Robinson picks up and doesn't even sound happy to speak to me. Mind you this is her JOB I shouldn't have to kiss your butt in order in for me to get my transcripts sent over. So while I'am speaking to this hoodrat she doesn't answer any of my questions she gets loud with me saying "OH MY GOD JESUS" and getting an attitude mind you instead of getting to the bottom of it for me she tells me I need to email and call this lady name Ajana Wilkinson and I asked for her name Then THIS IS when she "tries" to be helpful lol. And Now i've reached out to Ajana and this lady is "never" in her office like mind you I've called 3 days straight. So you mean to tell me you're never in your Office???? lol I'm reporting these ladies to the president of this school. And the president needs a better staff because this is horrible I've never experience this kind of service. I explained to my other school who is way more professional about my experience and they felt bad for me and have understood why I've left this garbage place CALLED A SCHOOL. And one of the best school's my butt. THIS IS THE WORST SCHOOL EVER. DO NOT SIGN UP TO THIS SCHOOL. You're better off at BMCC

Pretty decent to start out! This college is drenched with resources that will maximize your experience.

Pros:
-The amount and variety of RESOURCES
-Helpful professors who won't let you fall through the cracks.
-Beautiful ocean scenery. Ideal for those who like to be the water (me!)
-Affordable.
-Lots of opportunities for scholarships, internships and ways to make money. Just look into the resources!
-The courses aren't overly challenging and may be a pro or a con depending on how you look at it.
-Courses are small. Max 30-50 students in a classroom.
-Yellow school bus "shuttle" to get you from campus to Brighton Beach and Stillwell Ave. stops. Takes forever, though.
-Free summer classes!
-You grow so much in so little time.

Cons:
-NOT an easy commute (I usually take a cab from the Stillwell Ave. station as there are only two buses that travel to the campus and they are nightmare) There is a shuttle bus service, though.
-Unfortunately, a lot of students are not motivated. Don't come here and expect to be friends with your classmates. Save that for a senior college. Focus on networking with staff instead.
-Although I have my HSE (GED), I find that the courses are not challenging. It is fairly easy to maintain a high GPA.
-The cafeteria is overpriced for the quality of food and it is scattered with animals that act like they have never eaten before.
-Wi-Fi is slow and I can never seem to connect to it even after troubleshooting with the IT.
-Bursar.
-Seems to have most bank ATMs except for Chase.
-There is a high school on campus, so beware of rowdy teenagers.

Tips:
-Wait until your first class to decide whether you will need a textbook for a course. I bought all my textbooks for my courses and I only use one book for one course.
-Buy your books online! I bought all my textbooks from the campus bookstore and spent well over a couple hundred dollars!
-When visiting certain offices, be prepared with questions and make sure you know what you need. Don't expect them to read your mind!
-Take advantage of the resources! There's a gym, pool, library, and performing arts center. There is also a daycare for those that are parents. There are many contests that allow you to win cash prizes!
-Get involved!

The experience here, like everywhere else is what you make of it.
