This was a delightful experience. We went with friends from out of town and had a long lunch together. Both the food and atmosphere were excellent. My roasted duck breast was done to perfection, and we were all happy with our entrees. The cauliflower soup was great. The room was quiet enough that we could hear one another talk. It was a little chilly but definitely cosy. Prices were reasonable. I expect that we will return often.

Came here for an afternoon tea with a friend visiting from out of town. There is an upstairs room and a downstairs room as well as a parlor area. The decor is very Victorian-style. We were seated in the downstairs room, behind the staircase. The tables were nicely set up, however the chairs were folding chairs! This kind of took away a little from the experience for me. The service was good and friendly. With the tea, each person chooses their own tea and gets an individual pot. The tea pots were very cute, in the shapes of buildings and houses. I ordered the Darjeeling tea. I have had much better Darjeelings. The tea was served in a tea bag, not loose leaf, which was another minus for me. The tea came with a traditional three tiered tray with scones on one level, pastries on another, and sandwiches on the third. The scones (raisin) were very very good. I wish there had been more of them. There were cucumber, salmon, egg and ham sandwiches. I don't like tea sandwiches, so I did not eat any of them, but my friend did and said they were decent. The pastries included some cookies, fruit tart, and some small muffins. They were ok, but not great. There were also two chocolate covered strawberries, which were brought out separately and were good.

Enjoy the charming English atmosphere and delightful service when dining on the duck breast, rack of lamb, foie gras flan and stilton cheese.

Food better than average, but not foodie level. Wine list pathetic. Service OK. Chairs ricketty. All in all, though, our party of 7 had a lovely time.
