This is officially a 4.7-star review. It's not on the leading edge of Chinese cuisine and isn't trying to be, but it has delightful old-school ambiance and excellent service.
The ribs, Lake Tung Ting shrimp and pork sliders were very good. The pu-pu platter is worth trying once - highlights including shrimp toast. Not a whole lot on the vegetarian side if you swing that way.

The service was relaxed, friendly and attentive. We were a party of 8, and I sampled most of what we ordered, The just about all hit their mark. You have to know what you want. If you want to be blown away by the latest Asian-fusion gourmet trend, this is not your place. If you want a great old-school Chinese-American meal reminiscent of a time when just going to a Chinese Restaurant felt exotic, this is your place!

Local favorite of my wife's family. I love the appetizers which are fried thick noodle-type foods and the sweet and sour sauce. It's a lot of family style options, too. I don't know about the prices because I've never had to pay.

I haven't been to this restaurant in over 20 years since I was in high school. After seeing the show on Restaurant Redemption, I decided to revisit it again. I must say, I was not impressed. One of the issues on the show was the outdated menu and the old style greasy food. I had hoped this changed. I was wrong. I ordered the beef chow fun with no mushrooms. The portion was a nice size but upon eating, I noticed there were several mushrooms in my dish. My server, a very nice older gentleman, apologized but he only gave me a plate to pick out the mushrooms my self. I normally would've sent my plate back and demanded to see a manager (thank goodness I didn't have an allergy) but I realized at this point that I was not returning. My companion ordered the chicken egg foo young which was greasy and overpriced. It seemed to be something one could get from local take out spot for a much cheaper price. I was very excited by the changes I saw on the show, too bad no one listened.
