I have tried numerous transcription services in New Jersey so far, and used King Transcription Services several times mainly because I have met the owner once. He was very polite and was an overall nice person.

However, the transcriptions usually have numerous errors. Usually the mistakes were not that vital until this time, when my transcripts reflected some spelling errors and a plethora of erroneously transcribed sentences, some of which had the COMPLETE OPPOSITE meaning. I listened to the audio again, clearly heard the discrepancies, politely emailed King Transcription to point out the errors that were clearly audible.

I received an email with the following response: "Thank you for your inquiry of the possible corrections to your transcript. We have reviewed the audio and transcript and we stand by the document previously provided." I was surprised at their unwillingness to even correct the elementary spelling errors. Only when I emailed the company back to insist for the errors to be fixed, the spelling errors were corrected. However, the majority of mistakes were not.

I called the company and spoke with the office manager Vangi Rovero. She rudely pointed out that they have "highly sensitive listening devices" and that the transcriber did not hear what I had pointed out. I asked to speak to the owner of the company, to which she replied that there were no owners. She then interrupted me mid-sentence with "thank youuuuuu, goodbyyyyyye," and hung up. I was speechless. It is impossible for the transcriber not to hear something on their "highly sensitive device" that I could clearly hear on my not-so-highly-sensitive macbook, which led me to believe that they did not even bother to re-listen to the audio file.

This is actually my very first bad review I have ever written. If you value professionalism and need a transcription of a court proceeding, do not use King Transcription Services. They make more mistakes than other companies, but are too lazy to correct them.

King Transcription is a great company. They are always friendly and willing to go above and beyond to meet our needs. Vangi is awesome!
