Ken Gardens Apartments

I moved into a really nice apartment - large rooms, really nice new kitchen. I love it! The area is nice...residential homes in front of us and a small strip mall behind us. My neighbors are great! The manager in the office is helpful and friendly and the maintenance guys seem to always be busy working. I have only had one small problem and they came right away to fix it. I like it here and plan to stay!

Quiet place to live and visit. Clean and well kept

Moved here 3 years ago, no problems so far. Strip mall right around the corner. Very close to Keyport, beaches (Union is like10min away) and train station. Be smart with the heat and your bill is not going to be astronomical. I've had good neighbors so no complains there.

I moved into Ken Gardens with joy and excitement. It was my first own apt.. I moved in during the hurricane and had no power for 11 days - the neighbor upstairs called the police on me twice because my tv was too loud - CRAZINESS - i had NO POWER!!!!! The property manager did not approach the neighbor, until the neighbir after 2 weeks of having lived there started putting letters under my door complaining. AGAIN - nothing was address. She knocked on my door about 5 times within two months.. Then during christmas, as i am celebrating with my family on CHRISTMAS DAY!!!!!! she called the police on me and sent her son over banging on my door screaming its your santa baby. i filed harassment against her - i had to take things into my own hands. HORRIBLE. After that - not to mention the walls are VERY THIN here - the people upstairs started banging on the walls and floors in the middle of the night when i had work the next day.

I begged the property m anagers to help me with something, NOTHING was addressed - i am breaking my lease and moving - this is horrible - property is poorly maintained - the office is barely open when they say it is.. they NEVER return your calls when you ask them to...

Safe yourself the pain i went through.. do not move here.

Do not be deceived by the astroturfed reviews on various websites. This place is a true ghetto in sheep's clothing. There are several other complexes just up the road which do not take section 8 and are not scary to walk around at night. While they might be slightly more expensive, when you factor in the very high cost of electric heat and hot water and the unpleasantness of freezing your nuts off all winter long because you are afraid to get another surprise $287 electric bill. Yes, seriously, your electric bill will range from $40-$300+. Just go to a nicer place which includes heat and has laundry on site. Your quality of living will be much better and you will pay less overall.
