We moved from the city to Glen Rock a few months ago and have been on a dry cleaner crawl of sorts, trying to find the best quality dry cleaners at the best price. Needless to say we've been surprised how expensive all of them are, but that's neither here nor there. Walking into Kelly's Cleaner you get the feeling like you're doing them a favor by giving them your business. It's old, there aren't many clothes on the racks and it's outside of downtown Glen Rock.
The prices are just as expensive as every place downtown, but the lady gave me 10% or so off on the 1st shot so we went for it -- 13 pieces of clothing including dresses, shirts, skirts, suits, etc. Things were going as per usual until it was time to pick up the clothes and only 12 pieces came back. Apparently my navy slacks went rogue. 3 weeks later, 2 visits with no action other than some shrugs and promised "follow ups" that never turned into anything, no received phone calls to update us on the status which were promised... I finally had enough and went in there for the last time. The lady finally says she'll credit us, but that wasn't the point of the visit. There's no way I'm going back. Lose my pants once, shame on you. Lose them twice, even with a credit, shame on me. I guess the dry cleaner crawl continues...
Other notes:
- no parking lot so parking is awkward on a busy street (S. Maple)
- slow service in store
- staff are poor communicators
- dry cleaning not done on-site
