We did a major renovation in our home in 2009. Our first floor was so divided that the kitchen and living room were cramped. There was no lighting in the living room and not enough outlets throughout both spaces. The biggest problem was a supporting wall that limited both areas. The kitchen layout didn't work as well. So we called Kitchensandclosets and they converted our cramped first floor to an open beautiful living room kitchen concept. Our kitchen cabinets are a light toffee oak with wall to wall cabinets. Travertine ivory colored tiles for the back splash with bronze inserts, brown granite countertops with a 6 foot island. The island has storage space and seats 8 people comfortable. Italian porcelain floors 20x20 were placed throughout the first floor connecting the two rooms and hallway. Now we have surround sound in the living room for our television and stereo and incredible lighting throughout the whole first floor. Kitchensandclosets gave us a new warm inviting home. We strongly recommend them to anyone who wants a beautiful transformation of their home. Their workers were professional and clean. The work was completed in about a month.

I purchased a 2-bedroom coop in Queens, and hired K-One Floors in the spring/summer of 2014 to completely redo bathroom (remove and replace); demolish a wall between kitchen and living room; add a kitchen island (cabinet with granite counter top); replace existing counter top with granite; add new back splash; build a new closet (California style); re-shelve closets; do some electrical work; paint walls; sand and seal wood floors; replace hardware (eg, doorknobs, cabinent handles); install new microwave and new kitchen sink. This was my first renovation project and I was a bit nervous going into it, especially given all the "nightmares" one hears about with contractors. As soon as I met Gordon (the owner) I felt as though I was in "good hands." Gordon was a pleasure to deal with, was very professional, and was trustworthy. He was always accommodating (was available to meet me at the property when I requested). He took the time to answer all my questions and patiently explained any details I asked about. Throughout the process, I had the sense that he was very organized and that he managed his crew efficiently. He is very quality oriented and has an eye for detail. In fact, he made several suggestions to help pull the finished project "together" from an aesthetic standpoint. Overall, I was very satisfied with the quality of work, and the project was completed within budget. His crew was polite and cleaned up nicely after they finished. Furthermore, both Gordon and his wife (family business) are very nice people with a sense of integrity. Working with K-One floors made what could be an extremely stressful experience much less so. The project went smoothly and the whole experience was overwhelmingly positive. K-One Floors gets and A+ rating from me for quality, meeting budget expectations, professionalism, communication, accommodation, decency, and niceness! Use them and won't be sorry -- only very pleased!
