After neglecting my eyes for the past two years, I made an appointment with Dr. Jonathan Kruh of Comprehensive Ophthalmology. He was recommended by my primary care physician, as my previous eye doctor had moved his office. I was very nervous going there, as I don't like having my pupils dilated, and I had been having some vision problems as of late. The staff was friendly, warm and welcoming.
The receptionist greeted me by telling me how nice it was to meet me after we had spoken several times on the phone. She made me feel more at ease. The technician led me to the exam room, and was polite and professional as he took my information and medical history. They even take a photo via the computer to add to your file!
Dr, Kruh was one of the nicest doctors I have ever met. He introduced himself when he walked in the room, took the time to talk to me and asked me about any current issues I was experiencing with my eyes, and I felt more relaxed and not rushed. I subsequently verbally beat myself up about not staying on top of my vision problems, as I had been busy with other issues, and he advised me that I should just focus on making better choices moving forward, now that I was sitting there. I mentioned that I was nervous, and he reassured me that there was no need to worry.
Dr. Kruh was very thorough with the exam. He performed some diagnostic procedures, with different types of lights, that I had never had done before. When I was not opening my eyes wide enough, he gently held my eyes open so that he could view everything he needed to, to make an accurate diagnosis. And when he dilated my pupils, I was more at ease, so it was not as bad as I had recalled. When all was said and done, he took the time to explain the results of the tests, provided me with a new prescription for glasses, and gave me some sample eye drops. I had mentioned that I am on the computer many hours during the day, and he told me that people will often not blink enough when they are looking at a computer, and your eyes get dry. He suggested I keep a bottle on my desk at work.
I will no longer be neglecting my eyes in the future. Dr. Kruh and Comprehensive Ophthalmology have taken away my apprehension of going for my annual eye exam.
I highly highly highly recommend Dr. Kruh and Comprehensive Ophthalmology to anyone who is looking for an eye doctor. They are the best!
