Coffee taste really good but the price is too high!

Great coffee. The pour over is worth it - you can really taste the various flavors they talk about. The staff is a little snooty - but that goes with the territory of being "not starbucks".

Expensive coffee! I got a 20 ounce decaf iced skim latté for $5.00. And they'll be raising their prices in the middle of August!! Ridiculous. Coffee is getting expensive everywhere, including at Starbucks.

Service is pretty good. The guy asked me about my shirt and we chatted about it.

They don't have a whole lot of seating inside but it's enough for eight or ten. So it's not standing-room only but it's not spacious like a Starbucks where you'd go to work. I went to drink outside in the parklet in front of the New School, which was much quieter and less claustrophobic, and had open seating.

Joe offers a hipster vibe with serious, high quality coffee. The staff is fairly nice, but don't think of this are your local coffee shop. Instead, it's a cool place to grab coffee and expensive snacks. My only complain, however, is that they close at 8pm, which seems odd, especially for a Union Square coffee shop.
