Jo-Mar Dog & Cat Grooming & Boarding

I needed to bring my cat in for a claw trim and grooming and I stopped by just to get some additional information on their services. The young lady at the front desk was not at all helpful and told me to just check out their website (which is poorly maintained). Later on, when I called up to make an appointment, as soon as I said I had never taken my cat there before, the lady on the phone gruffly told me that they are not taking any new cats and practically rushed me off the phone. If you check out reviews of this place around the web, you'll read tales of overbooking and rushing. What a terrible first impression!

I brought two dogs there before - a shih-tzu and a maltese. Both cuts were GREAT and the prices are as well.

My one bone to pick with them was when I brought my dog and told them short and they left him long because the groomer just rushed into the front and grabbed the dog to the back without actually really listening to what I wanted to say. I ended up driving there, seeing my dog's hair being way too long, asked them to re-do it and had to drive home and wait for another 2 hours to pick him up. If she has listened to me the first time, then it wouldn't have been a problem.

The staff kinda seems hungry for tips and seems to stand around a bit waiting for you to give something to them. They also book up VERY fast and one of the people who books the appointments doesn't seem to be too bright - doesn't know when the appointments are and puts you on hold for a REALLY long time.

Even with all that, I would bring my dogs there again because of the great cuts and shapes they gave them.
