Javier Zelaya MD

I love Dr Zelaya and have had nothing short of an amazing experience as a patient in his office. I have been seeing him for 4 years now and my skin has made a dramatic improvement. Zelaya is an extremely knowledgeable dermatologist and has always been able to answer my questions in a way that is easy for me to understand. He has a very friendly staff that has also been very helpful and I have never had to wait longer than 20 minutes to see him. If you want a very good dermatology experience, I highly recommend Dr Zelaya.

I had a great experience at this dermatologist office. Yeah, the reception staff can use a lesson in being a bit more friendly and professional, but the skin treatment here is really wonderful, which is what matters most! Vinita Hom was such a pleasant and professional Physician Assistant. She took complete care of me by removing my moles and I did not feel any pain. The treatment was quick and thorough. Vinita was friendly, courteous, and most importantly, she new what she was doing! I will most certainly return here again for my skin care needs.

Dr. Zelaya Has helped improve my skin alot. One of the best dermatologist out there , great skin treatment !

He is a fraud.

I had a minor skin problem a few months ago, I first went to his Brooklyn office, and he never showed up. Instead his nurse gave me some injection, but the problem was not cured. So I went back to his Manhatten office, and he told me to have my skin tissue checked in the lab. So I got bill charging for both his fee and lab fee, but he never gave me any followup on the lab checking result. My skin problem was not cured at all, I have to find another doctor for it.

Although the staff is very nice- it is obvious that the dermatologist funnels patients to the physician assistant- pocketing the full price of a "specialist visit".

So- I was given to the physician assistant even though I specifically requested to see the doctor. I am okay with having the PA check the moles, I can even do that, but the procedure was horrible. I regret not speaking up and asking to have the actually MD preform the removals.

I was in extreme pain from the injection of the pain killer. I have had numerous moles removed - I know it shouldn't and normally doesn't hurt so badly. I am PRAYING that the procedure to remove the moles went well otherwise. In the past at another dermatologist, the procedure was done incorrectly and it did not heal. Instead it become a cyst.

Oh and wait was an hour- to see the PA. I never met the dermatologist.
