The coolest anachronistic music venue ever. It's a lovely little theater where you can experience some real Americana. I loved going to Roots & Ruckus with Feral Foster! I'd planned on eventually taking ukulele classes there, but never got around to it. I did hear that their banjo classes were great though! The owners, Lynette and Geoff are amazing people, super generous and warm hearted. I miss this place!

This is a great, friendly venue! The teachers are all talented musicians and are very personable. They also have a great little coffee and beer bar. Their vintage instruments are all affordable and are full of character. And the concerts and square dances are some of the most fun events in all of Brooklyn! If you love old-time music, country, blues, or folk, coming to Jalopy is always a sure bet. It'd definitely worth the 10 minute walk from the F train at Carroll St.
