I've come here for a couple of things including the international auto show and the franchise expo. Nice venue I recommend you buy your beverages or food prior to arrival the prices are a bit high.

Went her for an IT conference. Nice building and overall it was a good experience but ran into four problems:
1. Free Wi-Fi was extremely slow (they did offer paid Wi-Fi)
2. Finding outlets to charge electronics was practically impossible
3. TV's in cafeteria were on instead of subtitled, made it difficult to concentrate.
4. Room number was very confusing. I'm sure there was a pattern, but I never figured it out. Made finding various sessions quite difficult.

Always has the coolest and most interesting shows here! Gorgeous convention center with lots of giant windows, great architecture, futuristic looking. Love the NYIAS and the FFS, my two top favorite shows here. The home show, gift show, and so many more are all amazing also. It's incredible how they can set up and create gorgeous booths and then break down and suddenly be gone a few days later!

The Javits center, as we locals call it is a perfect convention center that just got better because of one awesome solution: the 7 train now extends all the way to 34th and 11th Ave, just around the corner from the center. So what used to be a good three Avenue walk to public transportation (leaving from the center) or a ridiculous bus ride, is now a simple Subway ride right to the center. I've been there for photo expos, food shows, university graduations, and the center is always run with precision and efficiency

Before attending Fancy Food Show at the Javits Center. I only knew it as the giant glass structure near where I pick up the Megabus back to Washington, DC. After attending a food expo here, I now know how much more it is. It's one of NYC's biggest convention centers and it's location is perfect! It's on the river on the east side of Manhattan only a half mile from Penn Station and hundreds of hotels.
The convention center itself if enormous with many huge halls. The main lobby areas are glass giving the convention center an open, inviting feel to it. There are Starbucks and food areas sprinkled throughout, but I recommend walking a few blocks to nearby Gotham West Market. It's like a hipster food court serving only gourmet food with accessible prices!
