Took my daughter to this facility because she having problems breathing and seemed to be experiencing more than a chest cold. She had an upper respiratory infection and was told that she was contagious. You would think that the doctor would prescribe her an antibiotic but he didn't. Gave her a bunch of over the counter meds and sent her home. I not only became ill with the same issue but so did all her colleagues at work. It's been ten days and my daughter is getting worse. Her colleagues were given antibiotics and they are all better. I am going take my daughter to real doctors that believe in old fashioned antibiotics instead of this wait and see method of treating your patients. Horrible experience

I wish I would have read Stephanie Jaccarino's review before I went to this office yesterday because I had LITERALLY THE SAME TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! It was almost as though she were writing about my bizarre trip to this office. I went in after suffering from a severe cold for five days. I was suffering from sinus pressure, intense headache, hacking cough, itchy throat, runny nose, congestion. I went in because I thought it could be a sinus infection or something. When I signed in at the front desk I noticed a sign advising that they don't issue a long list of medicines. (Mostly pain medications.) I understand that there is a problem with people abusing pain meds on Staten Island but this was a little presumptuous. This office is for urgent care. What if you go in with an injury? They are going to offer you Tylenol? That was odd to me. After that I noticed tons of signage and displays for a diet plan. Who goes to an ER seeking diet options? I thought that was strange. Then the doctor's behavior really put me over the edge. It was almost exactly as the previous reviewer described. The doctor gave me a full anatomy lesson on why I was congested and why he thought antibiotics would be ineffective. He had a color picture of the inside of a person's face and was really trying to teach me about the inner workings of my sinuses. On a day when I didn't have a POUNDING headache I maybe would have thought that was useful but probably not. I doubt anyone that is sick enough to go to urgent care is interested in listening to a doctor talk for a solid 15 minutes about why they are sick. I had to really strong-arm him into giving me a ZPack and he didn't hide his disapproval or disappointment. This facility may be good for you if you are interested in a more educational, holistic approach but if you are looking for a traditional doctor to diagnose you and give you medicine than I would skip this place.

I have come here two other times in the past and had no issues. I came yesterday because I was not feeling well. Sever sinus pressure, body aches, sore throat, coughing, and it felt like someone was sitting on my head. I was told by the doctor that he did not agree with decongestants and antibiotics?! Then why are you a doctor at a walk in? Most people go there to get a prescription quickly, like I was trying to do yesterday. Instead he was giving me his home remedies. When I questioned him he became very nasty and defensive and gave me a script for an antibiotic. But made sure he told me several times that I did not need it and he didn't agree with it, but he was giving it to me anyway because people usually yell at him when he doesn't. He then proceeds to take a chart and show me what's going on inside my nose. I did not come here for a lesson I came here for a prescription so I can get better before Christmas. I was appalled at his attitude and how he made me feel when I asked for an antibiotic. He even wrote in the description for the antibiotics that it would not help me!!!! Needless to say I will NEVER go here again. I always wondered why there was never a wait there, well now I know.

My toddler had a bad allergic reaction to a medicine..we thought it was hives...my little boy broke out so bad that we had to take him in somewhere. We were here in Staten Island for the holiday and had no idea where to go. Thankfully our insurance gave us a referral for Ivy urgent care cuz they were fantastic. Doctor M. knew exactly what was going on with our boy and helped out two very stressed and scared parents by helping our son. They were so professional and staff is super courteous. If you're ever in a situation in Staten Island and need a walk in without the hassle of the ER...please let these people help you out. Thank you so much folks. We will definitely remember your practice for the future and rest easy knowing we have somewhere to go if need be.
