Intercontinental New York Barclay

semply the best..I spent my best Christmas holodays here and I can only recommend it to everybody!!!

My family had not been on vacation in quite a while, so picking a good hotel was extremely important. I have to say from checking in to check out, I was very pleased with the Barclay. We lived on the 7th floor facing the UBS building and didn't face the alleged problem of street noise.

The rooms were very clean and cosy and the bathrooms were well stocked with all the amenities. To be honest we didnt spend much time in the rooms as we spent all day either shopping or visiting sites. The beds were comfortable and allowed for a good night's rest. The staff were also extremely friendly and assisted us promptly with any problems for e.g. fresh towels, extra bed or coffee refills.

As for the WiFi, the $26 fee is pretty steep but this is New York City. There is LITERALLY a Starbucks located withing a 5 minute walk in any direction you wish to walk to. There is one located opposite the street (Lexington & 48th) and another off Madison & 47th (right besides a Mcdonalds which also has free WiFI). Me and my father were both technically still working despite being on vacation and didnt find WiFi to be an issue.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE/ BILLING EXPERIENCE!

Stayed at this hotel for one night. Was delivered room service that I did not order. As soon as I was aware of the charge, I called from my room to the front desk and the restaurant told me that I would not be charged. Not only was I charged four days later for the amount, but it has taken me 10 calls to finally get it reversed. Now, instead of being refunded for the amount I have been CHARGED an EXTRA $100! I have spoken to several managers, client services and managers of the restaurant and everyone says that they will call me back. It has been three days, 11 phone calls and 4 hours of problem after problem! They have still not been able to fix it.

Very nice hotel staff, great amenities, great concierge service. Also very good location. Easy walk to times square and close subway access to anywhere in manhattan. Would definitely stay here again.

Awesome hotel, it is not dated I would consider it classy, and classy has no set date to expire as far as I know. The service is great, the restaurants inside are delicious, and room service is great. The rooms were cleaned daily and the bed was very comfortable. What else could you ask for?
