First off this one of 2 places in jackson heights that offers Indian buffet for dinner. Let me tell you my experience here. This was my first time here it was around 10pm and I was hungry I liked the look of indian taj so i went inside. with my gi problem so i have to be wary of where i eat i was nervous at first but it looked nice and i sat down. the buffet is self serve i had rice and dal with some beans. there was also palak (spinach) and chicken and the food fantastic. they also have a bar and the wine is great. the waiter came and i paid $11 for the buffet. i left and i had no problems after eating it so i was happy with that.

I ordered a chana Masala and asked the owner for some tinfoil so I can wrap the rice pudding so the container didn't open on the way home. He was so rude about wanting to give me some he said you don't need tinfoil what's wrong with you. Not a smart business person and does not care or treat Americans well as Indians that patron there. The service is bad and the waiters caught in front of you while standing at their posts a day don't cover their mouth. I had to get up and move to another table. Don't eat there.

Good service. The naans were hard as rock, and didn't enjoy those-- I felt like I was the attention of thew restaurant, with only two other customers and the hard crunch. Anyways, the buffet price at $11 is a great value. I was able to eat until I couldn't breathe (almost), and some of the dishes were really good, like the chicken makhani, chili chicken, and spinach with peas. Some of the others were okay, but I did not like the tandoori chicken at all-- the sides were super burnt, and very dry and flavorless. And rice pudding for dessert is just bleh, so I passed on that.
