Great teacher! Showed me how the 6 tastes and the layering approach permeated many different cuisines from around India so now I'm, theoretically, ready to use original combinations of ingredients and it still comes out tasting like the real thing.
Fun class, engaging instructor, very informative. I took it by myself and enjoyed it immensely.

First ever cooking lesson, let alone a Indian Cuisine cooking lesson and couldn't have gone better. Sanjay was a great teacher, and very personable. The food also came out great! Was one of the best gifts for my fiance ever! Thanks Sanjay!

Sanjay brought with him a wealth of information about Indian history and culture, as well as many delicious recipes that were just the right level of challenge for our family. We loved eating the lentils--simple, yet delicious--and the saag tofu was even better the next day. We appreciated how Sanjay taught us techniques that we could apply to a variety of dishes and recipes in the future. This was a one-of-a-kind experience that our family will always remember!

Sanjay was a wonderful teacher! The dishes we made were delicious and easy to follow, and his recipe book is very detailed. We made 8 dishes and he stayed well beyond his scheduled time without making us feel rushed. He was very patient despite two young noisy kids (he even held my baby for a few minutes so I could participate) and was happy to answer all of our questions.
We loved it and would definitely do another course with him!

My wife and I received a gift certificate for a cooking class from Sanjay. Not sure what to expect, we were totally blown away. He is a great educator who presents history, ideas, and a hands-on methodology in an easy to understand and clear cut fashion. We found the history bit and his explanation of different cuisines for various regions to be very interesting (and delicious, having had the chance to cook and taste some of those cuisines!). He helps you get to know the primary spices and flavors really well so that you can take this with you for the future. His 'layered' approach to cooking is really intuitive and under these grounding principles, not only do we feel confident making the 5 recipes we cooked together, but we definitely also feel ready to expand our repertoire. He really makes sure you get what you're doing, which drives home those underlying principles and gives you the tools to keep on learning on your own. He is really generous with his time (stayed longer than I'm sure he planned to) and is great to talk to as well. Thanks again Sanjay for an amazing lesson!
